For the conclusion of my project I wanted to recreate a task of one of my artist: ''Flash and the Spirit'' of Sally Mann. It is a collage of 18 self portraits of the artists, the images reflect Mann's unique pairing of a contemporary sensibility with antique photography processes and equipment, enabling her to give a distinctive, often emotional and sometimes raw twist to such subjects as love, loss, death and decay.

So for my Final piece wanted I wanted to do a collage but instead of a series of self-portrait I decided to photograph a couple of friends of mine which have a relationship; I chose to take different things to her photography and then mix them together, in fact I tried to recreate her collage of portrait but i change the subject, because I wanted also follow her study on the relationship. For this piece I didn't want just imitate a her photo, I wanted to rework her photography and made it mine, the fearlessness, power and deeply emotional themes of her art are both captivating and unforgettable.

In ''Flash and the Spirit'' she put her self very close to the camera and also she used different and unusual angle in order to alter the proportion of the face, and thus the first thing I did during the photo shooting was try to imitate her photography.

But instead of using an antique photography process I used a digital camera; to obtain the same result of her images with photo shop I change the image in gray scale, I increase the contrast and then manually I creased, folded and burned at the edge the photos.

My first attempt to modify by hand the images wasn't good because I ended up ruining them, especially when I tried to burn the angles.

But finally I managed to do it properly. 

In conclusion I decide to make a collage of these pictures and put them on a black background. I really liked the result of my final pieces I think that the I show very well the bond between the couple, I think the black and white and the way in which I disposed and edited manually add more meaning and I think that attracts the viewer.

With this project I learn to types of photography: Black&White and colour. I understand how to increase the photographs, the approach to these two photography is different, in one you have to forgot the colours and focus on the shadows and on the light in the other you have to play attention to the saturation of the colours and how combine them in the images. These photography don't need a lot of technique on photo shop, in fact the difficulties are how to use the camera.
